Since he was old enough to swing a hammer, Tom Brown, owner of TMB Builders LLC has been involved in the home-building industry.  He started in California working with his father Ben Brown as a general contractor, and after years of hard work Tom started his own framing business that at one time employed over 110 people. Prior to moving to Reno, Tom developed and built three successful new home communities in northern California, and also built numerous custom homes.   

After making the move from California to Reno, Tom and his wife Kathy, secretary/controller, continued to improve their product. Their first Reno development, Huffaker Village, was nominated for the Vanguard Award of Excellence by The Builders Association of Northern Nevada. Every Reno community TMB Builders has built after Huffaker has experienced similar success. These communities include Vista Point, Wedge Meadows, Cottonwood, and Skyridge.  In the 2005 Parade of Homes, a Skyridge home won both Best of Show for production homes, and best of show for its price range. 

The hands-on approach that TMB Builders believes in is reflected in every home built by TMB. Tom and Kathy are personally involved from the design stage to final completion of the home.  Tom is on the job site regularly, personally supervising every aspect of the home-building process, and it is very common for him to be present for the homebuyer walk-through. But it doesn’t end there.  The TMB Builders business line is almost always answered by either Tom or Kathy, and all customer service issues are dealt with promptly by the Superintendent Brian, a TMB employee for over eight years.
